Makeup Tips from Vanilopa, Model & Actress

Makeup has always been one of my favorite forms of self-expression. Whether I’m on set, walking into an audition, or stepping out for a night event, I believe makeup should enhance who you already are—not hide you. Here are some of my personal makeup tips I’ve learned as a model and actress.

1. Start With Healthy Skin

Great makeup begins with skincare. Clean, hydrated skin allows makeup to sit better and last longer. I never skip moisturizer and SPF during the day—it’s the foundation before the foundation.

2. Less Foundation, More Confidence

I love letting real skin show. Use foundation only where you need it, and blend well. A natural, breathable base photographs beautifully and feels more like you.

3. Light Is Your Best Friend

Always consider lighting—especially for photos or film. Soft highlights on the cheekbones, nose, and inner corners of the eyes help the face glow naturally without looking overdone.

4. Eyes Tell the Story

As an actress, I believe the eyes carry emotion. Whether it’s a clean liner, soft shadow, or bold lashes, choose eye makeup that enhances expression rather than overwhelms it.

5. Brows Frame Everything

Well-groomed brows instantly pull a look together. I keep mine natural—filled lightly, brushed upward, and shaped to frame my face without looking too sharp.

6. Lips Set the Mood

From soft nude tones to bold reds, lips change the entire vibe. Choose a shade that matches your mood and your confidence in that moment—there are no rules.

7. Blend, Blend, Blend

Blending is the secret to flawless makeup. Take your time, soften edges, and let colors melt into each other for a polished, professional finish.

8. Makeup Should Feel Like You

Trends come and go, but authenticity never fades. Wear makeup that makes you feel powerful, comfortable, and beautiful. Confidence is always the most important product.

Final Thoughts

Makeup is art, expression, and self-love. Whether you’re in front of the camera or simply enjoying your day, let your beauty shine through in a way that feels true to you.
